The Gaian Dragon I Ching Calendar : Week of Approach

Richie Havens - Here Comes The Sun (live 1971) HQ

The Gaian Dragon I Ching Calendar

Approach

Everything can be accomplished through the correct Approach.

Return to your roots. Gather wisdom. Think things out before you start. Bite through to the essential point. Retreat from negative thinking. Dig deep to find the Well.

Form a plan of action. Return to your friends. Move towards Peace. Maintain Control. Work within the Limitations. Decrease what is out of balance.

Leave the past behind. Approach the future.

The Image

Embrace the Earth.

Recognize the moment.

Listen to the words of Dragons.

Follow the Way of Nature

The Inside

The Dragon pays attention. When the beginning is correct, what follows moves smoothly. Be smart. The Bees love peace. It is most easy to break the ice with a gift after an argument. Be sensible. Observe the results of your actions to decide which Path you will follow. Think! Be resolute and certain that you are prepared for what you must do. Be Together! Polite considerations are expedient, when it is time to end a relationship. Get wise! The Wisdom of a Sage is available to all. Good Fortune grows as people make use of it. Learn something!

The Outside

Without order, discipline, and a clear plan of action, an army will march into destruction. Be sensible. There is Good Fortune in following the example of a Spiritual Guide. Learn something! The Butterfly rides the breeze. Do not allow yourself to be swayed by the normal ups and downs of Life. Meditate. Wait for the right situation to develop. Good Luck. The Bees are always around. A good example communicates through its presence, rather than through admonitions. Be Real. There is Good Fortune in making sacrifices for the common good. Be Real!

The Lines

Top : Supreme Good Fortune comes, when the Sage approaches the Seeker. Be Kind.

5 : The Bees are always around. Recruit people of proven ability, and allow them to organize within their fields without interference. Be Wise.

4 : Evaluate people objectively on the basis of what they do. No Blame.

3 : The Butterfly rides the breeze. Do not relax and allow things to fall apart by becoming too comfortable. Pay Attention.

2 : Success! Make commitments with those who will fulfill their agreements. Be Aware.

1 : Success! Make commitments which you can fulfill. Be Real.

The 4, 3, 2, 1 Formula

A Love Song for Trees

Clouds 15

The 4, 3, 2, 1 Formula

by James Clair Lewis

This is something I discovered while working as a School Crossing Guard.

For 40% of the drivers, I'm not needed at all. These people don't even need police for that matter, because they are like, "Hurt somebody? Commit a crime? Why would I want to do that?"

Then are the 30% who want a Crossing Guard to remind them that it is time to stop and let pedestrians across the street. These people are no danger to Society either.

Next are the 20% who will stop for the Crossing Guard, but they won't like it. Jerks.

Finally, there are the 10% who don't care about anything besides what they want right now for themselves. I was almost run over by one of them on the job.

What you see here is an accurate statistical representation of what the human population is really like. 70% of people all over the world, are either real nice or OK people. 20% of people are jerks, but we can deal with that. It is only one out of ten people who actually is a barbarian.

Most barbarians are simple bullies, and petty criminals. They harm other people, and generate some extra suffering wherever they go. However, there are a few who are considerably more dangerous. These people work their way into positions of power and authority on this planet. They have no compunctions upon their greed or malice, and generate suffering and injustice on a worldwide scale, simply because they can.

Note that it only a tiny minority of people who are doing these things. Most people by far are entirely decent, and caring. This is important to remember, when you consider the conditions prevailing on this world.

Recognize the essential goodness that prevails among the vast majority of us, and you will begin to figure out ways by which we can change how things are done on this planet. Since we are the majority, should we not have the most voice in how the affairs of politics and commerce are conducted?

The Earth could be a paradise. Let's make it happen!
